Maura Mast is Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she has been since 1998.  Her research area is in differential geometry, with a focus on geodesic behavior in nilpotent Lie groups. She is also former chair of the MAA’s Special Interest Group on Quantitative Literacy.

Ethan Bolker is Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science  at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His research interests include Combinatorics, geometry and Math with kids from K – infinity.

Dorothy Wallace is Professor of Mathematics at Dartmouth College. Her research interests include number theory, dynamical systems and mathematical biology. She has also co-authored a text on quantum mechanics and authored a text on mathematical biology for students with minimal calculus. She is co-editor of the electronic journal, “Numeracy,” and writes a regular column for the journal.

Jim Rolf is the Shizuo Kakutani Lecturer in Mathematics at Yale University. Dr. Rolf has been dedicated to finding creative, evidence-based ways for students to learn mathematics and to support other educators in this same endeavor. Dr. Rolf has transformed an introductory mathematics course, Calculus 115, by taking advantage of online tools and interactive technology to encourage concept engagement and development of problem solving skills. Building upon a platform developed by Coursera, he has created a “flipped classroom” approach, developing 42 videos and associated preparatory problems that students complete before coming to class. Most recently, he co-authored Explorations in Complex Analysis, a textbook with accompanying online tools for concept exploration.
